What to do when you only have one day in Moscow?

Start your day at the Red Square. In case you would like to see him, you can visit Lenin under glass. Make sure to check the timetable, because it is not open every day and besides, they have limited visiting hours. Then make your way to the free tour, make a reservation online. After the tour you can have some lunch in the Kremlin nearby food corner. Enough choice for everyone or make your way to Marketplace.

Make sure your lunch is quick. Then you have some time to visit the Kremlin as well the St. Basil’s Cathedral or the Kazan Cathedral (my personal favorite). In case you have enough time, you can also visit the other church on the Red Square. Absolutely worth it.

In case you do not fancy churches, you can also decide to stop at the GOM. A fancy mall. I enjoyed it because I just like seeing all the fancy shops and the Christmas decorations. Afterwards you can make your way to Novy Arbat street for some souvenirs and to enjoy a cup of tea. Or walk around in one of the botanical gardens. Even in the winter time it is very lovely.

Dinner is also possible at Marketplace. But a real gem is dinner at the monks. There are a few options. Ask your local guide or at your hostel/hotel.

Finish your day under the ground. A must do is seeing the subways in Moscow, they are palaces underground. Make sure to stop at Slavyansky Bulvar, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaja, Kiyevsskaya.

After a long day you need a good rest. Here is a place you would love to stay.
