Things you can do in Bergamo in just one day

Still thinking about going to Bergamo? Wondering what to do? Bergamo is not far from Milan, so if you have the chance to go, I would say it is a must. It is a beautiful city surrounded by the mountains. A lot to see and do. The city is very vivid with friendly people. It has something very relaxing, but also unique. It is an old town. This is a short itinerary what you could do in Bergamo just in one day.

Discover the paintings by Lorenzo Lotto, walk the Venetian Walls and visit the Campanone

Start your day with an espresso with a little snack. Then make your way to Viale Della Mura. From here you will start the paintings tour. First one is Chiesa dei Santi Bartolomeo e Stefano in Largo Belotti with the Pala Martinengo. Second comes Chiesa di Santo Spirito in Piazza Santo Spirito with Pala di Santo Spirito. Finally go to Chiesa di San Bernardino in Pignolo in via Pignolo with the Madonna in Trono. 

In Viale Delle Mura you will walk on the Venetian Walls. Go up to reach La Marianna in Largo Colle Aperto. There you will enter the Citta Alta. Head to Piazza Vecchia. There you will sit down at Caffe del Tasso (opened since 1476). After watching people stroll by, make your way to a nice place to enjoy lunch.

After lunch make sure to go to Campanone. Here you will have great views of the city and the surroundings. End your day at Botanico Bergamo.
